The demand for oil product have greatly increased together with the development of technology in the past decades. As more and more oil is transported, accidents often happen in transportation. This causes serious environmental and ecological disaster, especially when it happens in the ocean. Oil absorption material is an option, however, the absorption amount is still low. In this paper, bionic approach is introduced to study the flow mechanism inside oil absorption material. Osmosis effect, capillary effect, gravity, friction and transpiration effect in plants are all considered in oil absorption as well. At last, a mathematical model is proposed to demonstrate and optimize the flow pattern in oil water separation and oil absorption.
